I like Al's suggestion -- but I'd try some West System Epoxy which you could trowel-on

() You might lightly sand the surface. The epoxy is pretty "clear". You might try a cleaner like "Krazy Klen" just before you apply the epoxy. You can get it pretty smooth with a trowel.
IF the surface is exposed -- then I'd consider. Some people have had luck with a baby bottom cleaner -- which (because of the soap and sweet smell) seems to mask the odor.
