Sorry to hear about that, but it sure looks like to handled it VERY well! A true sailor, take on the adversity and handled it well. We ALL make some dumb mistakes, it's how you handle them that counts.

When we were cruising in the Sea a friend added about 30 gallons of diesel to his water tank! An we were in a somewhat remote place.

It took him a LONG time and a lot of water (water was scarce for everyone that year) to fix his problem.

I thought what he needed to do was find some liquid that BOTH diesel and water would mix with so that he could use that to clean the tank. First thing that fits that description was vodka or gin.

But he is a non-drinker!

As was said, you'll never do it again.
