While Heinz of course does do soups and any number of other assorted food items now, it was ketchup that made the Heinz fortune.

I once read a story about Sr. Heinz being at a picnic somewhere and pointing to a glob of ketchup left on the plate of a participant. Saying to the person he was with, "That right there, is the difference between mere survival and profits. If everyone used only as much as they needed, we would be struggling." or words to that effect.

FWIW, Teresa strikes me as a particularly honorable person. I believe she is Portuguese, born in what was then the Portuguese colony now known as Mozambique to a doctor and his wife. She was an interpreter at the UN. I like many of the things she has done to mold the Heinz charitable trusts since she has taken control.
