The two points of the bridge are the highest part of the 4.5 mile long bridge to Washington state. Ships pass under this high area of the bridge right along the Oregon shore and the town of Astoria. If you squint really hard you can see the low long stretch to the right over Desdemona Sands which often shows bare sand at low tide.
