seastar, that is. Retrieved from our crab trap a little while ago. Kinda looks like a sun...

Once one of these puppies gets into your crabtrap, and wraps itself around the bait bag suspended in the middle of the trap, ain't no crab gonna drop by for a visit...actually, I've been told that the mere presence of one of these seastars is enough to keep the crabs away. Slow though the seastars are, I guess the crabs just feel "out-armed"...
