Laminate Cruising Sails?

Hi all. Yeah I've been a stranger, but hope to change that and contribute a bit again.

I just finished reading a thread from June '06 on laminate cruising sails. Starzinger/Leonard, Eisberg, King, had experience with them. I'm shopping for a new genoa for our 43' Malo. The old dacron sail was great in its time, but the shape ain't what it was in 2002.

Any recent reports from folks? I'm concerned about durability. Delamination sounds like it is not so bad these days and mildew in the rainy northwest is probably manageable. How about chafe and strategies to deal with it? What happens to that carefully laid web of string when we load up the genoa while reefed?

This is gonna cost me some money!
