A little tip from Calder's diesel class... This works if you're siphoning from a jerry jug. Stick the hose into the pouring end and seal the opening around the hose. Then blow into the vent side of the jug until the siphon starts. If the jug is fairly full, you don't have much head to overcome. Sure beats the taste of diesel or gas! Better fer ya too! I haven't tried this yet, but it seems like a great idea.
