And while I doubt many sailing magazines would print it, I don't think it so much condemned all new designs, just pointed out that which is quite obvious. An athwartship double in an aft stateroom is very nice in your newly designed 40'er Mr. Boatbuilder, but don't say it makes the boat sail better.
It was interesting to read the interplay of the dynamics of these new design features, keel placment etc, and the inevitable design/marketing process. No designs are perfect, old or new, we all know that. But the why is an interesting subject. It was refreshing to see this Jeremy.
