I used Pettit Prop Koat the past two seasons. I keep the boat in western Long Island Sound -- a high growth area. The prop hub and shaft becomes fouled quickly and needs to be scraped every few weeks, as if nothing was used. The blades stay fairly clean with no soft growth and only an occasional barnacle, so the Prop Koat seems to work only on areas with a high rate of flow over them.
