probably no moon and they didn't know what they were attacking. Didn't the same thing happen to a dutch warship a few weeks ago?

It would be fine with me if they just blew them, and the mothership to kingdom come and never reported it. Maybe after a few pirate ships just disappeared without a trace the pirates would think twice about going out.
