Just run that nice wide copper ribbon down to the closest un-bonded bronze through hull and strap it on with a hose clamp. I did mine this way according to guru Gordon West's advice, and after using it nearly every day for four months, in the islands mon, always had one of the strongest and cleanest signals on the cruiser nets (according to my fellow radio nuts). I also hooked into my lifeline system for a while but could tell no real difference though it didn't seem to hurt anything (other than making us both sterile - a good thing!)
