Every boat travels at it's own pace. In general, we found ourselves traveling somewhat faster than most, but not all of the others. Not by any design, but simply because that's what happened. We started out with a Master Plan, but I lost count of the number of times it was scrapped for another, completely dfferent one. For the most part, we would just decide every morning whether we wanted to hang around where ever we were for another day, or move on to the next anchorage.

Extracted from my journal, here's a very brief recitation of where we went.

Oct. 1 2004 Departed Bodega Bay, N. of San Francisco.
Nov. 4, 1002 Crossed Mexican border
Nov. 26, Arrive La Paz (southern Sea of Cortez)
Feb. 24 2005 Leave Sea of Cortez heading south. Note that we could easily have spent much, much longer here and in fact, this is our 2nd visit to the wonderful Sea of Cortez. We were also here in 1999.
May 9 2005 Checked out of Huatulco Mexico and heading south for El Salvador. We spent over 5 months in El Salvador, waiting out the hurricane season and traveling by land around Central America.
Sep 20, 2005 Depart El Salvador and start working our way through Costa Rica and the islands of western Panama.
Dec 25 2005 Arrive Panama City. We spent most of our time here doing boat projects (hauling the boat, etc.) though did take a week or so to visit the Perlas Islands.
Feb 8 2006 Depart Panama heading for Ecuador
Feb 13 2006 Arrive Bahia de Caraques, Ecuador where we left the boat and spent a month traveling by bus down to Machu Pichu, Peru and around the Ecuadoran Andes.
Mar 26 2006 depart for the Galapagos.
Mar 31 2006 Arrive at the Galapagos Islands.
Apr 19 2006 Depart Galapagos for the Marquesas Islands, Polynesia
May 20 2006 Arrive Bay of Virgins, Fatu Hiva
Jun 20 Leave the Marquesas for a very brief stop (3 days) in the Tuamotus, a brief stop in Tahiti (5 days) , then on to Tonga (we would have liked to spend much more time in these areas, but had a date to meet our son flying in to Tonga).
Jul 29 Arrive Tonga
Aug 29 Depart Tonga for Hawaii (Tonga is another place we would have liked to spend a lot more time at, but at this point, we had to get back to California ASAP).
