Some things just have that power. I noticed people were drawn to BOLERO in the slings yesterday afternoon. A man with a lense paced to and fro looking for the right angle to capture the shape. He spent some time walking along the keel smiling as if he was feeling a cool breeze on a hot day. He lingered a while even after he was finished shooting.
Another man sat comfortably on the hillside above, close to where I took this shot and gazed at the shape for the longest time. He looked as if he was calmed by the sight. He too lingered there, just sitting and looking.
Even the people that spent two years rebuilding her spent some time outside looking the boat over. It's just one of those things that draws the eye and makes people pause. Very nice.
The tide is on it's way into Rockport Harbor at this moment for a high noon launch today.
