Seriously, though, I just thought it was interesting in an offbeat way --pretty unusual story, you gotta admit. And, anyway, I can't resist tweaking DDW about his rushed plans to blast through Newfoundland in a week . Not that Fogo Island is necessarily a must-see destination or anything, but...

By the time I get up to that part of the world, Ms. Cobb (the woman in the article), will likely have blown through her last $10 million...and Fogo Island will have returned to its accustomed quiet state...not that she cares, as she noted in the article: “Someone said to me the other day, ‘You were born here broke and the way you’re going you’ll die the same way,’” she said. “As long as I have two red cents to rub together I can’t say ‘sorry, didn’t work.’ ”
