Heritage and Easterner

The other bright-finished 12 we have here is Easterner. She was designed by Raymond Hunt for Chandler Hovey and competed to be the defender in the 1958 trials with Vim, Columbia, and Weatherly. Eastener has the beauty of the bright topside coupled with the graceful lines of the pre-Intrepid 12s. That said, Intrepid lives here as well and still looks like a winner even though she's been modified (winches mounted on deck, etc) for the charter trade. Easterner has been refitted for use sailing program for disabled sailors.

There are quite a few 12s based here (Newport).
