Really no difference in salt or fresh water vs. electrolysis, just different 'potentials'.

Best is to simply electrically connect a magnesium anode to your bonding system (already connected to your zinc anodes) via a 'wire' and simply hang it over the side into the water. The magnesium anode is preferred for fresh water and will protect the zinc anodes.
