Gene I am with you on keeping numbers and stickers off the hull. Our boat is documented and I have 2 small plexiglass squares bolted together under the roller furling drum for the state registration stickers. I saw a boat in Victoria last week that had the Registration Numbers routed in wood then varnished and hung from lifelines forward. It looked loads better than decals on an older boat, perhaps stainless or lexan for a newer design.
