We stopped overnight in Onset on the way back from P-town. Saw some whales and other interesting wildlife, biked around a bit and climbed the Pilgrim Tower. One tack from P-town to the east end of the CC Canal. (Will post some pics another time.) After Onset we had a very nice one-tack sail on SW reach down Buzzard Bay (NW wind) to the Sakonnet River where we anchored at Third Beach, then next day on to Block Island to meet some friends from our boat club and hang out. BI was empty like we never have seen -- not one boat at Champlin's dock, most of the town moorings were vacant, and it was no challenge to get space at the dinghy dock by The Oar.
Had some great winds for the trip up and back, taking time to either wait out unfavorable conditions, or alter destinations to suit the weather.
