I have a Bravo 10 that came with my now 7 year old Avon dinghy. I have replaced the airhose and plastic fittings twice already, and now the fabric of the pump starts to disintegrate and leak. I usually put a wet towel under the pump to prevent it from slipping. Two years ago I bought a Bravo double-action hand/floor pump. Same problem with the hose. This summer the shaft broke off the piston. I think these pumps are well-designed, but under-engineered. West Marine now sells a similar hand/floor pump, with an aluminum shaft. Perhaps these are better than the Bravo version. Anyway, keep the old Avon pump. I wish I had kept mine when I sold my old Avon Redstart dinghy.
