The Brewer boat is a one off that is probably one of the best thought out, constructed, set up, and equipped cruising boat I've seen. Looked at the listing thought "There is a boat I'd have built and would definitely like to own." At least, unitl I saw the asking price. Quality is expensive.
With the Euro trashing the Dollar and the overwhelming love of FRP in the US, alloy boats can be a lot cheaper here. The biggest problem is most US alloy boats were built for racing in the '70s and '80s so aren't optimum cruising boats. If they haven't been modified, they are stripped out racing interiors that only a person who eschews creature comforts could cruise on. You just don't see many of the newer cruising designs, like the ones coming out of France, for sale here. When you do, they aren't cheap.
