I'm a teak newbie. I'm pretty good at sanding and applying extra coats of Cetol gloss, but starting from scratch is a new experiment. I decided yesterday to strip all the muddy brown Cetol off my rubrails in hopes of letting them turn a beautiful silver like a boat down the dock. I used a heat gun and stripping scraper and they look pretty good.
I'm not sure what my next steps should be -- soaking with a bleach & water solution or sanding or something else???
Below is a shot of my existing half stripped/half muddy Cetol rub rail. The next post has a shot of my dream rub rail on a boat down the dock. Can anyone tell me what I do next?
THANKS & Cheers! Jan
