Jan, the only thing I can say is DON"T use

a brush to clean the teak. Use something like a Scotch Brite pad. A brush will dig into the soft part of the wood and you will end up with ridges of hard grain and valleys where the soft grain had been scrubbed out. A pad will do less damage over time. I did what you are planning several years ago. Boy, was I happy!
