…especially through a section that’s as wide open as that… I’ll run fast through pretty much anywhere that’s not a designated No Wake Zone, except for a few likely trouble spots at low tide, etc…
Running a 50+ footer at 25 knots or more down the ICW makes for a LONG day, however, stuff comes at you awfully fast, you really have to be paying attention continuously… Everyone thinks taking a deep draft sailboat down the Ditch is a challenge, but running a fast powerboat with completely exposed running gear is far riskier and much more stressful, IMHO…
