You don't want an "electrified" manual toilet...

'Cuz the motor only replaces the pump HANDLE...the pump doesn't change. And the motor doesn't help performance...it pumps much faster and with a shorter stroke than pumping manually, which causes it to take longer to prime and wears out o-rings etc about twice as fast...and also causes the toilet to "choke" on flushes that slower more deliberate pumping could push through.

But even if you opt to stay with manual, you do need to know that while the Groco Model K is the only clone of the Blake still in production in the US, it doesn't have the lifespan of the old W-C Skipper and Imperial...it has a very nasty habit of starting to recirculate after about 20 years, and the cost of having that part replaced is more than a new PH II. Thetford discontinued the original Skipper a long time ago, replacing it with the Skipper Jr., which was a mostly plastic version...then Thetford discontinued the entire W-C line at the end of 2008. A few repair parts are still available--mostly rebuild kits...anything else is limited what remains in inventory.

So unless you have upwards of $3k to spend for a Baby Blake, your only really worthwhile choices in manual toilets any more are the PH II and the Lavac.

When if comes to affordable electric today, I really like the Elegance...it's QUIET and uses very little power...and like everything else Raritan makes, reliable even when poorly maintained. Defender has it for
