It looks to me like the Maine sailors with beautiful wooden craft are the real "men" of sailing anymore.

The maintenance and attention to detail necessary, etc. and the waters and knowledge necessary to keep the boat and themselves going in that environment seems mind boggling to me anymore. My ten years with a boat with teak decks and varnish and solid wood cabin sides was all I'd care to have done in the final analysis. Bless the hearts of those still iron men and women.
