SS wire is conductive, Polymers aren't ... what about lightning?

After being hit by Thor's Hammer a few times. My concern re: synthetic rigging would be the elimination of the conductivity of 'metal' shrouds that 'can' redirect a strike down the sides and off the boat.
With 'all synthetic rigging', that leaves ONLY the conductive 'metal' mast as the 'air terminal' ... and thats going to be the only remaining 'pathway' to 'ground'
and which leads to the CENTER of the boat.
