Also you need to line the tracks with felt strips so they don't rattle.
At the local boat show in Portland OR I was looking at a Schooner Creek.......
One more thing -- Acrylic will stay clear longer

My slider will be approximately 27"X30"..thinking 3/8" thick acrylic...
I used 1/2 inch, not quite as wide (24?), and it can be walked on...
Did you heat form it to get the curvature?
Yeah, but had Trained Professionals do it....
It can be a bit tricky to bend that stuff...
Yeah, I didn't want to experiment with $200 of material...
I dunno on stiffeners. My boat is very small relative to..well, most boats.
