At the local boat show in Portland OR I was looking at a Schooner Creek.......

..sliding plexi hatch. This was on what a poor man like me would call a gold plater but of course it was just a cold molded, wood/epoxy mebbe 45 footer or so, value in the 300k zone. Now Steve is a quite competent boat builder! The boats coming from Schooner Creek are not only beautiful but well made.

His 1/2" acrylic slider was in rails of teak with what appeared to be a snug fit. I did not see channels or weep holes, etc. and of course now wish I'da inspected it closely. You couldn't board the boat as it was canted. Mebbe I'll go up to Portland and look again. I have to go nearly there to get the plastic anyway.

Looking on the net has produced no designs for this sort of thing. I had thought to cut a channel for water to run fore or aft, however, just thinking it through.
