Especially with aluminum frames. Take'm off, clean them up with caulk remover, brass wire brush, drill motor and scrubby pad on a mandrel, whatever it takes. It's not rocket science, it's not hard work. Don't take them all off at once, keep the job a bit limited in scope....IMHO. I'd take the plastic to a plastics place like Mult Craft plastics and have them recut exactly what you need just like it was...only not scuffed anymore.
Get the 795, reinstall'em. Piece of cake if you're careful in the take apart so's your frames are good and your plastic retains it's shape...at least do the best you can there.
