When we took delivery of our current new old boat, the pressure water system was not working. In fact, after looking things over I don't believe it was ever used. The pump was disconnected from the tank (and plumbed backwards), the 12v was not plugged in and the shower in the head was never installed. I went through and took care of each of these pieces of the puzzle, however the system never really worked properly as I posted here. Being that I had to disconnect and reconnect several of the gray plastic lines/fittings I was wondering what proper protocal is with this material? I have begun troubleshooting now that it appears spring is getting close and all things frozen are thawing out. According to the pump manufacturer, bubbling water like I get at the galley and vanity sink indicates I have an air leak before the pump. When I disassembled the fittings there was no sealing tape (teflon plumbers tape), I did not not reinstall the fittings with it either.
So all that said, questions: 1. Are these fittings multi use? Can I disconnect, move the lines around and reconnect randomly or do I need to replace the fittings and lines in those areas. 2. Do I need to use teflon tape on the threads or do the compressions fitings do the job by themselves?
