I bought a Coleman Sterling cooler in 2008.

It sounded like an interesting and energy efficient technology and since it was considerably cheaper than a compressor driven portable fridge I figured I'd give it a shot.

I've been very please with the unit. I use it on the boat during boating season and on road trips in the off season. I haven't measured the current draw but normally operate it on Cool-2 and Cool-3 and estimate it averages one to two amps (but that's in moderate temperatures and it's only cooling 25 liters). It does emit a constant low volume hum which is not that apparent during the day but is noticable in the quiet of the night and takes some getting used to. I was somewhat apprehensive about the 12 degree maximum tilt but so far that does not seem to be a problem.
