cruising is free but stopping to use the land is not...

... ... and as most "cruisers" spend their time at anchor, it's going to cost them. I love cruisers as much as anyone but don't they have an impact on the areas they visit hence the fees?

My take on the fees is that you can tell how much someone doesn't want you somewhere by how much you're charged.

If I continuously had people stopping by my house to use my dock, water, etc., I may eventually consider charging too as I don't feel the need to support everyone's lifestyle. Maybe I wouldn't charge if I could afford it or maybe if visitors benefited me in some way (like cutting my grass or fixing my pier) I would make considerations but life isn't free nor is it easy.

And of course, the people I don't know or don't like would get charged more.
