Apparently an American warship intercepted and the hostages were killed in whatever ensued. My condolences to the families of the dead, but they knew they were going into a risky area and rolled the dice.
A consistent policy of interception and non-negotiation is the only way to end this, in the bigger picture. It would also have an effect if the international military drew a line around Somalia and inspected every vessel that crossed, confiscating weapons and turning back any vessel carrying them. Military escorts for convoys would also help.
