There was an article I read last week about the cost of keeping a prisoner locked up.
As the report went,,, With all the costs associated it it comes to about $85,000 a year to keep a prisoner in jail.
There is a cruise ship line that is offering a 3 month stay in a private cabin for $18,000.00 including all amenities. By doing the math , that's $72,000.00 for a year... We could put our prisoners on cruise ships and save $15,000.00 a year each.
Yes,,, there are no guards but the cruise ships have almost 1 crew member for every 2 guests. Certainly we can get rid of some waiters and maids add guards instead.
I just thought it was funny. Talk about rehabilitation.
