Hi Jeremy,
I'd seen the report several weeks ago that shoaling at the center span of the Bonner Bridge had reached 3.5 feet... Of course, anyone who runs Oregon Inlet frequently rarely passes through the center span, the deeper water is almost off to either side, one of the things that makes it even trickier with an air draft approaching 60'...
Cruisers had better get used to the new realities of budget cutting, I expect dredging issues to become a real problem on the ICW again in the foreseeable future... Coupled with stuff like $42 for a mooring in Westport, MA, cruisers may actually have to take to anchoring, and sailing in the ocean from time to time... (grin)
best regards,
Jon
