Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, but my experience with the Autoprop is the opposite...

I've never figured it out, although not that I've actually tried very hard to do so, but...

With my Autoprop on a Hurth HBW 100 gearbox, the shaft will continue to spin above a decent speed if put in reverse - the only way for me to lock the shaft is to put the engine in FORWARD...
