They charged us the 10 dollars a day

for the expected time we were to be in Belize while we were checking in. If you over stay then they get you on the check out. We were told that if you avoid the PC on checking in they most likely won't charge you but that's trying to get around the law and opens you to up to problems I don't want to deal with. When we got to one of the parks they just came up to us on the beach and told us to pay up right then. They did it nicely but never the less, we paid on the spot. The port Captain showed us a printed fee schedule of so she wasn't just winging it. They had the fees for staying for over a month and I believe it was about 500 bucks per month. As for Lighthouse and the Blue Hole, you can anchor a few places and avoid the fees but if you want to get close to do a dive then you need to bite the bullet and pay for the night. That's second hand information off the morning net. There was quite a bit of talk on the morning NW Carib. Net dealing with the fees, anchoring and way points to get in past the reefs. Dan and Rey are going to stop at the Blue Hole on the way up so i will be interested in hearing about what they find out.
