Anyone who's frequented Block Island during summer will appreciate that this an amazing image when you consider it's only a week after Labor Day weekend! Not ONE boat! (The Viking might be parked for the season). For those who aren't familiar with it -- this place is usually docked 2-4 boats deep in July-August with hundreds of boats.
I used to think Champlins and other businesses in the New England islands were a rip-off but this picture drives it home that they have to cover 52 weeks worth of overhead and income in 8 weeks per year. It's like someone flipped a switch.
