• tapping aluminum (mast) ... better to use fine or coarse thread ?
  • Ooh, controversy. I prefer coarse as alum. is so soft.
  • Fine thread has greater holding power
    • but needs 3-5 threads in contact to support 100% of the tensile load, and depends on how accurate the tapping.
