My concern

I too have believed in Trinidad since TBT was banned. I like it for the wide range of protection and its longevity. That said, if I can get reasonably the same protection from a non-copper, that is fine with me. What bothers me is the new paints don't appear to provide the protection and longevity - I dunno. Also using the new Washington law as a guide it looks like the business of stripping all the old copper will really be expanded. My guess is that EPA will follow the same line in its regulation. From the WA state law "After January 1, 2018, any recreational water vessel being sold must have been stripped of copper paint or sealed." I've stripped a couple boats in my time, but I'm now at the age that it will be hired out.

Perhaps it is just the "sticker shock" of having the job done that is getting to me.
