Hey! The Sun does shine in Maine after all...

it did today. Up here in Southwest Harbor for about a week, has been raining everyday until now. Supposed to rain everyday until I leave, possibly excepting Monday.

When can I look forward to the black flies?

Doing some work on 'Anomaly'. I remember the guy back in Toronto who said, "I estimate the time for the job and then multiply by 5." He's been pretty close to right. Example: the dogs and hinges on a New Found Metals port light must be adjusted out to accommodate the bug screen gasket, when installed (and installation is necessary in these parts). But when the fasteners are backed out that far, only 2 threads are still engaged, loctite won't hold 'em, they turn every time you open the hatch. No problem, I will just order up some longer ones from McMaster, pop 'em in and done. Got to remember to measure them, boat's across the country. Got to remember to bring them along. Now go to pop them in, and guess what? New Found Metals turned the heads down (or bought specials), standard SHCS won't fit by about 0.020. So I will take them back to California, make a fixture, write a program for the lathe, turn the heads down and Presto! job done. Elapsed time, running about 24 months now.....
