Replace the sender! 
In Response To: Strange readings from my Oil Pressure Gauge … ()
I had one fail. Oil gushed out the sender and before I knew it the main bearings were damaged.
If you don't have one on that old engine, add a low oil pressure alarm. Could save your engine someday.
