Frihet has a 6HP outboard that sits in a well in the lazarette. Because of the motor well's design, tilting it up is impossible. Removing it is enough of a hassle that I do it only when I have to , about once every three months. Electrical power on the boat comes from a 12v battery, with a charger to charge from shore power.
Except for when the outboard motor's small 5a alternator is connected to the battery, there is no electrical connection from the outboard motor to any other source. However, my motor seems to go through a zinc every 4 or 5 months.

I can't quite figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?
