If your custom CQR is well made, I would

keep it.

Seems large enough to me.

We have used CQR's for years, sucsessfully, including 2 hurricanes in St Martin when most of our neighbours dragged ashore.

I have read how wonderful the latest generation (Rocna etc) are and would perhaps buy one if I needed a new anchor. However, I do not believe they are dramatically different from the CQR. (Except of course the new ones are patented, with marketing programs. CQR patents have long run out)

We heard similar promotion of the Bruce about 20 years ago as a new generation, super anchor.

I few nights ago in Bukkoya Bay in Norway we anchored in a spot that others have described as being difficult to get a set in with their latest generation anchor. Our CQR dug and held against max engine revs no trouble, with only 4 to 1 scope.

Every anchor is best in different condiitons, and of course ther is some luck in the exact spot it is dropped on.
