you like to wake up to this. See photo. Denny and I took the boat over and anchored off the park to watch the "Summer Pop", well, listen to the "Summer Pop" but when we were ready to up the anchor and head back to the slip the engine was a bit hard to start. Once I got it started it ran fine. I figured we were either having some fuel problems or maybe the air cleaner was getting fouled. Neither reason made much sense but it was late and I decided to look into it this morning. I pulled the air cleaner off ad all I could see is water in the intake right up to the brim. It appears that the hose to the top of the anti siphon loop was plugged and I siphoned water back into the engine. I spent the day flushing the engine with diesel and oil after removing the injectors, changing the filter and generally making a mess all over the inside of the pilot house. That's all bad enough but while using some Bowshield T-9 to spray down into the valves the little red tube came off and fell right down the hole next to one of the push rods. There was no way of getting to it with out removing the push rods which, of course, meant removing the entire tappet assembly. After re-assembling everything the engine started right up. I flushed everything two more times and will run the engine under load tomorrow and give it one more oil change. Instead of changing it at 100 hours like I do I'm going to make the next couple of oil changes at 50 hours. Any other suggestions???
