You're probably right, I'm certainly very pleased with the performance of my Manson...

Hey Larry,

...hasn't let me down yet, I still believe it's the best anchor I've ever used, by a long shot...

Like Dave, however, I've never been particularly impressed by the finish, even the Chinese Rocnas LOOK better fabricated, to my eye... Mine is showing a bit of rust after a few years, nothing dramatic, but I think that's one of the downsides of the sharpness of the tip, the galvanizing goes away more easily... The two little "ears" on each side below where the roll bar attaches are showing the most rust, have you noticed that with yours? I just coated mine with some POR-15, we'll see...

The sharpness of the edges of the hole for the shackle bothers me, that will really tear into a galvanized shackle, it's even scratched up my titanium shackle a bit... But the thing that REALLY bugs me the most is that stoopid slot in the top of the shank, I HATE that damn thing! I'm convinced the only reason they went with that nonsense, is to differentiate it from the Rocna, in an attempt to make their blatant copy of Peter Smith's design a bit less apparent...

A 44-lb Rocna would fit my roller just a little bit better, I'd probably make the switch if I ever find an original made in NZ or Canada...

Nice pics from Boston, Larry - looks like you've had a nice trip... That bastard Stillman is a pisser, no? (grin)

best regards,

Jon
