Please tell your neighbor that you know a guy who builds scientific and weather satellites for a living. Also tell him that guy has a personal message for him. That message is "Quit your fucking bitching and pay your taxes if you want any satellite weather coverage at all!!!" Thanks for the laugh. He was probably one of those dipshits protesting about taxes in DC a few years ago. You know the guys. The ones who had the nerve to say that the public transit system was insufficient.

Here's a shot that will crack you up. When we do acoustics testing on a satellite we surround it with rock concert speakers and hit it with the launch vehicle spectrum. Between runs we crank some great tunes. This satellite is Kepler. I can't find a shot of NPP right now, but it's about the same size.
