make sure the paint is very dry on the stern first. Keep your eyes open for a deal on a sailing dinghy in your travels. We still spend some of our most memorable time sailing ours. Last night we sailed into Edgartown harbor with a huge yawl also under sail just to leeward. What a sight. We both had to time our tacks through the ferry traffic. Winds were stiff, too stiff for our dinghy. I was careful with the sheet....
Mary Ann took the tiller on the way back and had a hoot steering downwind planing down waves back to the boat. Flying with 15 knots of wind and 3 or current, she swung the tiller, and gently tucked us onto the beam perfectly. I was more surprised than she.
Later a big tourist Cat close reached it's way back into the harbor and slid down our beam as the sunset over Nantucket. Edgartown is a true sailing place. You'll get the itch to sail.
I'm looking forward to keeping track of you guys during the long winter.
