it really is a funny story, though. There are just so many laughable aspects: e.g. if the GPS went berserk
why didn't they have a back-up? If they had paper charts and a compass they should have been able
to get where they were going. I guess the Capt. (or Navigator?) didn't do any DR. Well, as someone
pointed out, they could have just headed N (and keep an eye open and watch the depth sounder)? (For
pity's sake, the articles don't even say that there was heavy fog and restricted vis). Couldn't
they get on the VHF and ask a nearby vessel for a position check?
She's not to blame for this, but who the hell was in command of that boat? The mere fact
that everyone was panicking says loads.
