I purchased a Refleks diesel heater and other Reflek items (fuel cutoff, filter etc). They are all designed for 8 mm copper tubing using flare and compression fittings. I want to use fuel hose, either 5/16 or 3/8. The guy at Hamilton Marine said many of the fishermen use hose for their heaters and get the appropriate fittings at their local automotive store. I haven't found a local store yet that carries metric fittings to convert from a flare to a hose barb (I checked McMaster and they don't seem to have them either). I did find a 'standard' (ie US) barb that seemed to screw into the female Refleks port, not a real tight fit but maybe adequate. This is a low pressure line, so perhaps that will work ... But diesel is viscous and I hate doing things just 'good enough.'

Any suggestions appreciated, and, once again, hope I'm not 'asking too much help on this wonderful board.'
